The Chevra Hatzalah Volunteer Ambulance Service, founded in 1965, is the largest all-volunteer ambulance service in the country. More than 1,000 EMTs, paramedics, physician’s assistants and medical doctors work on staff.  Chevra Hatzalah deals with 75,000 medical emergencies per year, with an average response time of two to four minutes.  The service has more than 60 ambulances. 

Chevra Hatzaleh accepts no government funding and charges no fees.
