Columbia University EMS is a student-operated, New York State-certified, basic life-support volunteer ambulance corps, serving Columbia University's Morningside Heights campus and the surrounding area.  The EMS is a 24-hour, 7-day service.  Staffed by students, members are required to take the same 120-hour course required of all EMTs in New York State.  There are 45 active members of the corps, who respond to more than 800 calls a year.
