College Point Community Ambulance Corps, an all-volunteer unit, was founded in 1941. It serves College Point and the surrounding area.  It is considered New York City’s first volunteer ambulance squad.  There are 35, paid-per-call firefighters on active duty.  The squad responds to as many as 500 calls per year.
