West Hamilton Beach Volunteer Fire Department serves the areas of Howard Beach, Rockwood Park, Hamilton Beach, Jamaica Bay, Ramblersville and the Belt Parkway.  WHBVFD also covers John F. Kennedy Airport when there is a “Crash Box,” confirming that a plane is having difficulties in trying to take off or land.  WHBVFD has a fleet of emergency vehicles: an enhanced engine, a pump engine, two ambulances, a service vehicle and a marine 1 watercraft.  Both ambulances are New York State-certified Basic Life Support vehicles.
